Jenn Marshall
Assistant Coach
Marshall joins Diehl on the Bulldogs’ softball staff after working together at Indian Hills Community College. She started assisting the Warriors in 2020 and also served as an Admission Representative in Ottumwa. Marshall was part of three Region 11 titles and a 2023 NJCAA World Series appearance during her time at IHCC.
She also previously served as an assistant softball coach at Morrisville State College (2018-20) and Finger Lakes Community College (2015-18), both in New York.
Marshall earned three degrees to kickstart her career including an associate degree in athletic training from Finger Lakes Community College. She then earned her bachelor’s degree from The College at Brockport and master’s degree from SUNY Cortland, both in Sports Management.

Gretta Hartz
Assistant Coach
Drake softball head coach Lindsay Diehl has announced the addition of Gretta Hartz to the coaching staff.
Hartz will serve as an assistant coach and comes to Des Moines after completing her collegiate playing career at the University of Northen Iowa and Indian Hills Community College.
A Runnels, Iowa native, Hartz attended Southeast Polk High School and continued her athletic career at Indian Hills for two seasons. While with the Warriors, Hartz had a .388 batting average in 2022 with 14 home runs and 19 stolen bases. In her 2021 season with the Warriors, Hartz hit at a clip of .295 with eight home runs and 21 stolen bases.
At UNI, the outfielder appeared in 48 games, with a pair of starts over the past two seasons. Hartz excelled on the base paths for the Panthers scoring 22 runs and collecting nine stolen bases.
Hartz earned her bachelor's degree from UNI in business teaching and has had prior coaching experience at the high school level serving as both an assistant and head coach at the ninth grade level and an assistant at the varsity level.
Molly Jacobsen-McCarger
Pitching Coach
Jacobsen McCargar comes to Drake after a year as an Assistant Pitching Coach at the University of Missouri, where she also played a major role in the Tigers' scouting efforts. Prior to her short stint in Columbia, Molly spent two seasons at the University of Texas as a Graduate Manager and Volunteer Assistant. While in Austin, she helped guide the Longhorns to an NCAA National Championship Runner-Up finish in 2022 and NCAA Super Regional berth in 2023.
A native of Adel, Iowa, Jacobsen McCargar began her playing career at DMACC (2017-18) where she earned two First-Team NJCAA All-America, All-District, and All-Conference honors. She posted a 51-6 win-loss record with 585 strikeouts and was named NJCAA Division II National Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore.
Following her decorated juco career, Molly moved on to Oxford, Miss. where she played two seasons at Ole Miss. She tallied 19 wins with five saves and 230 K's while earning NFCA Second-Team All-South Region and Second-Team All-SEC honors. Molly's final year as a student-athlete took place where her coaching career started --- at Texas. She logged 76 strikeouts and a 14-6 record in her lone season as a Longhorn.
Jacobsen McCargar earned her Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Ole Miss in 2020 and Master's in Sports Management from Texas in 2022.
